Aviation Industry Association conference 2025 recap

September 21, 2025

DO Drones recently attended the Aviation Industry Association Conference 2025 in Wellington, an event that brought together key figures from across the aviation industry — including regulators, innovators, and professionals from both New Zealand and Australia.

The event was an inspiring opportunity to connect with others in the aviation space and to gain fresh insights into the current state — and future direction — of UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) operations in New Zealand.

There were many valuable discussions around the existing gaps in the UAV sector, and how companies like DO Drones can play a role in helping to address those challenges through innovation and collaboration.

DO Drones showcased the capabilities of ABZ Innovation's drone technology, emphasizing its strong relevance to the agricultural sector. Backed by 18 years of agricultural consultancy and research from an agricultural university, ABZ Innovation’s drones are grounded in real-world expertise. With proven spray testing and real-life performance data, these drones are purpose-built for the demands of modern farming — offering practical, tested solutions for the field.

The C10 cleaning drone, also featured, drew attention for its high performance and combination of physical and software-based safety features, designed to support safer and more efficient operations across various industrial settings.

For DO Drones, the conference was a great success — not just in terms of industry engagement, but also in reinforcing its commitment to supporting the growth and safety of the UAV space in New Zealand and the wider region.

Shoutout to Scott Hogan (Airborne Solutions), Andrew Shelley (FenixUAS), and Chris Jackson (Jackson Unmanned Aerospace) for their powerful presentations packed with fresh insights on the future of aviation!
